Here at Bert's Gene Brown Transmission, we take pride in providing all of our clients with FREE tune-up evaluation. This allows our mechanics to give your car the individualized attention it deserves. Your tune-up will be based on what your car needs to run healthy for a long time – we do not base this on a general formula.

Tune ups are important to maintaining the lifespan of your car and have been a defining point of auto repair for decades. This procedure was originally intended to provide optimum vehicle performance by adjusting the ignition coils and making sure they were “in tune.” Thus the name “tune up.”

Today, tune ups are a bit different, but nonetheless vital to maintaining your car in peak performance. Tune ups can have a variety of components, depending on your car. Your tune up may include the replacement or repair of:

• Air Filter
• Clutch Adjustment
• Distributor Caps and Rotors
• Fuel Filter
• Points and Condenser Change (for older cars)
• Spark Plugs (and Spark Plug Wires)
• Throttle Body Gaskets
• Valve Adjustment

Please note that if you notice your car is running poorly or “acting up” a tune up may not be the solution for your situation. Tune ups are intended to maintain the ignition and engine of your car. Existing problems may be better served by a specific repair.
